This gorgeous renovation was designed with lots of open space in mind giving us a chance to add many stunning individual touches.
A family holiday to the Caribbean, inspired this palette. While the finishes and furniture placement offer subtle design statements, its the brick effect that adds the interest with texture and its natural colour.
The client had some incredible artwork and didn't want the house to take away from what they had carefully curated so a streamline modern style was a must when we discussed their brief.

This renovated Dromana beach house makes this family home the most popular in town, A beautiful sunny day and the house is now ready to welcome many family and friends.
The owners of this house wanted to update its pokey tired living spaces and had a short list of needs.
1. More open spaces
2. Entertainers Dream with movement from indoor to outdoor but also a really lovely family area to spend quality time.
3.Create a sleek, sophisticated decor that is ready to impress and easy to maintain.
We kept costs down by retaining the architecture from within the home. But updated by removing unnecessary walls and adding innovative form and colour.
So excited how it turned out and happy we meet the challenge.

"This kitchen makes me want to hang out in it, all the time" was the clients claim once we had completed the renovation.
From a very tired dark timber we transformed that into a modern minimal look and focused on the functional needs of the client.
Sophisticated pared back with only the essentials displayed was the brief. The use of polished concrete, custom tiles and joinery give this light flooded kitchen an airy appeal and of course a huge island offered an abundance of storage to hide all their catering items.

We completely gutted this house from the front door to the back with a casual yet sophisticated decor that is ready to impress yet not be too precious.
Our clients required a contemporary workable space with storage solutions. We reconfigured of few walls and windows which now capture the views of distant sand dunes and hilltop breezes whilst also opening up the rooms allowing larger groups to gather and relax in.
Using Natural shades found in nature our joinery, chic marble mosaic tiles and natural floorboards offered a simple clean the innovative zone to accommodate this large family and their friends.

Wavehouse Design is Mornington Peninsula based. Our creative interior design professional Vanessa Ondaatje has been transforming spaces and coming up with new ways to recreate your favourite spots to live and work, entertain and unwind.
After 24 years abroad she is excited to be back in her home on the Mornington Peninsula and sharing the Global design concepts she has picked up in her travels.
